THE MINACK THEATRE

The Minack Open Air Theatre in one of the most beautiful settings one can find anywhere in the World. Perched high on the Cliffs , with the stunning blue sea of the Atlantic Ocean, and the wonderful coastal vista of Porthcurno Bay with Logan Rock as a backdrop. Many visitors arrive at the Minack imagining it was built by invading Romans, but the real truth is even more remarkable. From 1931 until she died in 1983 the Minack Theatre was planned, built and financed by one determined woman. This is a ‘must visit’ for everyone!

FLUSHING ART WEEK

For one week each year Flushing Village opens its doors to local artists and visitors for a festival of art. The week includes community galleries, weaving, sculpture and printing workshops, flower festival, postcard art, photographic competition, film night and evening musical entertainment. Art is displayed throughout the Village, in the Village Club, pubs, restaurants, Church, Chapel and residents windows. Everyone joins in the spirit and this ‘Living Gallery’ is just another example fo what makes Flushing such a crazy village – we love it!

FALMOUTH ART GALLERY

Falmouth Art Gallery is situated on The Moor, in the upper floor of the Municipal Buildings above the Library. The Town's art collection is one of the most important in Cornwall, and features works by major British artists. The Gallery has an excellent shop inside the main gallery which sells postcards of the pictures in the Town's collection, catalogues and posters of previous exhibitions as well as general art postcards and greetings cards, posters and art books. Falmouth Art Gallery holds the Town's collection of over 100 paintings and 250 works on paper.

TATE ST IVES

Tate St Ives presents modern and contemporary art, often created in or associated with Cornwall. Its location in St Ives, with dramatic views across the town and harbour to the east and Porthmeor Beach to the north, provides a unique opportunity to view work in the surroundings in which, in many cases, it was actually created. Tate St Ives opened in 1993 and occupies a spectacular site overlooking Porthmeor Beach close to the home of Alfred Wallis and to the studios used by many of the artists whose works are exhibited.

THE HALL FOR CORNWALL

Hall for Cornwall is the largest theatre in Cornwall offering a mix of live theatre shows from musicals, children's shows, gigs, drama, plays and music shows. It attracts close to 180,000 theatre-goers each year. The theatre has hosted companies such as Rambert Dance Company and The Royal Shakespeare Company as well as a wide range of entertainers from Bill Wyman and Pam Ayres to Coldplay and James Morrison. PHOENIX CINEMA FALMOUTH

The Phoenix Cinema a state of the Art 5 Screen Cinema, including 3 luxury licenced screens with waiter service offering snacks & drinks. The cinema boasts a Café and a Bar. It has just opened, and represents a transformation of the old Falmouth Drill Hall. Showing current blockbuster movies and less mainstreap films in equal measure, it is the perfect place to spend a wet and windy afternoon or a romantic evening.
