PADSTOW LOBSTER HATCHERY
The main attraction has to be seeing the young lobsters growing up ready to be released, but there is also a resident giant lobster, 'Dai the Claw' and Edible and Spider Crabs. The hatchery displays a wealth of information about lobsters, the fishery and marine conservation, as well as activities for all ages.
Staff are always on hand to answer your questions and make sure you get the most from your visit, and there is a gift shop area with sea-life related goods and a range of books about marine life and Cornwall.
NEWLYN FISH MARKET
Newlyn is home to one of the largest fishing fleets in the United Kingdom. The industry is one of the most important in Corniwall. All sorts of fishing vessels can be seen in the harbour - beam trawlers, long liners, crabbers and even small open boats used for hand-lining for mackerel in the Bay.
It is worth rising early to visit the bustling Fish Market and to see the fish being sold. The fish is displayed in coloured rectangular baskets and ticketed awaiting auction. Some of the fish are destined for local restaurants, but most are sold to buyers from various other European countries.
CORNISH MARKET WORLD
Cornish Market World indoor market is situated just minutes from St Austell town centre on the Cornish south coast, and just 2 miles from the world famous Eden Project. The ancient town of St Austell dates back to 1189 and possesses a rich architectural heritage, ideal for combining sightseeing with a days shopping at this huge indoor market.

THE LIZARD
Lizard Point with its lighthouse is the most southerly point in Great Britain. It is famous for the local serpentine stone, a unique metamorphic rock which is dark green veined with red and white.
Serpentine ornaments were particularly fashionable in Victorian times but the village still has several serpentine turners working during the season. There are several craft shops, gift shops and galleries. This is also an area which boasts a number of scuba diving schools.
CORNISH MINES AND ENGINES
At the very centre of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, these two great beam engines sit preserved in their towering engine houses – a reminder of Cornwall's days as a world-famous centre of industry, engineering and innovation.
The Discovery Centre gives you the whole dramatic story of Cornish mining, with an atmospheric film and static displays. Don't miss the experience of walking through the flue tunnel and the dizzying view up inside the 36m chimney stack.
THE CHINA CLAY PARK
Set in 26 acres of woodland the visitor can explore nature and historical trails leading up to a high viewpoint that gives a panoramic view of Wheal Martyn Pit a modern working clay quarry, from here can be seen the powerful water jets and massive trucks and equipment that extract this important material so essential in our everyday lives.
The site offers something for everyone, from the children’s adventure trail through the woods, to the well stocked shop selling a range of gifts including local pottery and ceramics.
SHIPS & CASTLES LEISURE POOL
One of Falmouth's premier attractions, the Leisure Pool at Ships & Castles provides daily fun for all the family throughout the year for visitors and residents alike. With lots of exciting features including a wave machine which brings the thrill of the ocean in-doors and a river ride which sweeps you along at an exciting speed.
These features are activated about every 20 minutes during fun sessions only.The 70 metre flume is the longest in the region and is a surefire hit with children and adults. There is a shallow beach area for little ones to play away from the main area; introducing them to the excitement of the pool at their own pace.
