Behind the fine period facade guests can enjoy a truly nostalgic escape, with its character charm dating back from 1775 and enhanced by modern day home comforts for a chic and tranquil stay. The romantic 3 bed cottage is ideal for groups of up to 6 and has been beautifully finished in a nautical style to reflect the strong maritime heritage, from having once been home to a Packet Ship Captain.
To the ground floor an inviting sitting room provides a wealth of period features including a central beam and smooth oak flooring, which has been whitewashed for a fresh coastal feel. Plush contemporary sofas provide the ideal excuse to unwind and socialise. The charming wood burning stove also adds a romantic ambience to the room for autumn and wintertime stays, with complimentary logs provided.
A Freeview TV with DVD player and WIFI access features for guest’s enjoyment as well as a small reading library to enjoy some quality ‘me’ time during your stay.
The stylish whitewash flooring continues through to a bright and spacious kitchen diner, which is fully-equipped for home cooking and ideal for hosting informal dinner parties, with a country-style dining table perfect for parties of 6. All the desired home comforts are provided to the kitchen including a cooker hob, microwave, kettle, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine.
From the sitting room a flight of stairs lead to the sumptuous first floor sleeping accommodation.
Providing a romantic sanctuary in which to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing, the master bedroom offers a luxurious and relaxed place in which to revive the senses. The room features a king size (zip & link) bed with pocket sprung mattress and designer bedding alongside bedside tables, a chest of drawers and a fitted wardrobe. The sumptuous interior palette of pretty soft crimson, grey and cream is enhanced by a feature fireplace, ambient lighting and soft furnishings.
Also situated to the first floor the second bedroom is equally stylish and ideal for a second couple staying, with a large double bed perfect for indulging in a guilt-free lie-in. The crisp nautical interior finish and touches exude a classic maritime charm to the room, with pretty village views to enjoy from the window seat provided.
The third twin bedroom is ideal for accommodating either children or adults and is decorated in an equally charming manner. Its nautical themed decor offers a sense of restful escapism whilst the flat screen TV provides the ideal distraction for children!

Outside guests can enjoy relaxing and entertaining to the secluded private garden, which enjoys an elevated position with far reaching views of picturesque Falmouth to take in. An outdoor dining area (BBQ trays provided) also feature to the sunny terrace to provide the perfect venue for summertime relaxing and entertaining.
All parking in Flushing is on-street and free of charge, and guests will usually be able to find a space just outside the house or close by without difficulty. In addition Amelia’s Cottage has a reserved parking space approximately 250 yards from the property should it be required.
From the heavenly holiday home, guests are within easy reach of the tranquil charms of Flushing village, which include a pretty quayside with pet-friendly beach, a bowling green with a children’s Pirate play area and a host of amenities including a local grocery shop, the Royal Standard and Seven Stars pubs, the ‘Waterside’ Bistro and a frequent bus service and passenger ferry crossing to Falmouth. A wider range of dining options including fine fish restaurants may also be found in Falmouth, as well as a great selection of family-friendly beaches and attractions, including the 16ht century Pendennis Castle.
Flushing is perfectly situated for reaching the nearby sub-tropical garden attractions and also the Eden Project, for memorable days out. The village is also within easy driving distance of Mylor which offers a host of water sport activities, boat hire, yacht charters and sailing schools from its Yacht harbour, and also the cultural charms of Penryn, which also provides a convenient train service to Truro, for the London Paddington line.
