Shell Cottage is the perfect holiday retreat, packed with Victorian charm and modern additions to sleep up to six in comfort. Situated directly opposite Flushing quayside, and set around a pretty walled green, it is one of just five similar houses painted in contrasting pastel shades in the unspoilt fishing village of Flushing. The cottage has oblique views of the water from the master bedroom and elevated garden, and benefits from a reserved parking space on the quayside just a few steps away.
The lounge features an original Victorian open fire and comfortable seating on two large sofas. A flat screen TV and DVD player are provided, although there is so much to see and do it is unlikely you will want to spend much time watching it. This room is the perfect place to relax after a long day exploring the many delights of Cornwall.
The modern kitchen has under-floor heating and is fully equipped for self-catering with a Belfast sink set in generous wooden worktops, a large fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven and washing machine.
There is access from the kitchen to the private garden, which has semi-obscured views of the estuary – the perfect place to enjoy an al-fresco lunch, or to relax with a glass of wine as you watch the sun go down and the evening light change in the harbour.
Upstairs and to the front of the property the pretty master bedroom has oblique views over the quayside to the estuary. There is a twin bedroom at the rear, with access to the third bedroom. This is ideally suited to children, with the option of a single bed or twin beds and additional access to the garden.
The bathroom has just been replaced to provide a modern spa environment, with clean white fixtures and fittings.
Well behaved dogs are welcome at Shell Cottage. Logs and coal for the open fire are provided, and guests have complimentary use of the WiFi Internet access.
