“A cross between a boutique hotel and home” is how one of our guests described The Green House. Many others have returned year after year. A traditional terraced house in a pretty street, with an enclosed and sheltered suntrap garden.
The Green House was built in the 1800’s and was recently refurbished to a very high standard to provide luxury modern accommodation with a seaside theme while retaining many of the original features, including sash windows and works by local artists. Our aim was to create something special, a real luxury home from home with everything you could wish for to make your holiday very special.
We refurbished it to an exceptionally high standard using local materials and top-quality fittings and furnishings, including a new central heating and hot water system. Enter into a hall with Cornish slate floor and the original 19th Century title deeds displayed on the walls. The lounge with leather sofa and tub chairs also benefits from a flat-screen TV, DVD, PlayStation and Wi-Fi. A “Fire-Belly” log burner keeps this cosy lounge warm in winter months.
The separate character dining room has an oak table and leather chairs which seat 6 in comfort. This leads into the modern kitchen which has everything you will need during your stay, including a halogen hob, electric fan-assisted oven and dishwasher. A sliding door gives access to a utility area with washer-dryer and separate wc.
From the kitchen a small courtyard with steps leads up to the enclosed feature garden. This is very private and has a tropical feel with lush jungle planting and decked areas. Sunloungers, a hammock and a table and chairs make this a great place for lazy breakfasts as well as al-fresco dining and evening drinks.
Upstairs, the large luxury bathroom has a heated slate floor, airing / drying cupboard and deep bath. Fully tiled with a power shower and WC, high quality towels and toiletries make this a relaxing spa-like family bathroom.
The comfortable master bedroom looks out to the front of the property and has a king sized bed with iPod dock and plenty of storage. The second bedroom has a double bed and looks out onto the garden. Both of these rooms continue the nautical feel.
Bedroom 3 is perfect for children, with full-sized white bunk beds, Laura Ashley fabrics, bunting and fun décor. Who gets the top bunk?!
Quality bed linen and towels are provided, as are a cot and highchair. We welcome well behaved dogs.
